Welcome to E. Ciardi Co., a third generation family owned business specializing in the art of antique restoration. Our specialties include restoration and revitalization of brass, copper, silver, pewter and iron items from days past.
E. Ciardi Co. was established by Ernest Ciardi in the 1920s in Old Scollay Square in Boston, Mass. initially finishing and plating church goods as well as providing restoration services to customers in the private and public sector. Over the years, we have built a superb reputation as a leader in our field.
Since 2000, we have concentrated our efforts solely on restoration work and have shifted completely from the manufacturing industry to a more enjoyable, satisfying work of beautifying the well-crafted antique pieces produced by true artisans of an era gone by. We are experts in restoring antique lighting, fireplace accessories, brass beds, Chelsea clocks as well as other types of clocks, fine dinner settings, unique collectibles and heirlooms, and we work on everything from a single candlestick to the largest chandeliers. Nautical equipment is a passion, and is one of our favorites.

At E. Ciardi Company, we offer an array of finishes. Although most of our restoration consists of a high-polished finish, we offer other finishes as well. For example, some may find a polished finish too brilliant for the room, or for the piece, in which case we offer a wonderful Butler's finish which gives a nice mellow look that still has a polished feel to it. We also offer Statuary Bronze, Antique, Satin and Matte finishes. Though we no longer offer silver plating after more than 70 years, we still do sterling silver restoration. We also have the ability to meet your Nickel, Chrome, Copper and Brass PLATING needs.
You are sure to find a finish to match your taste. After each piece is finished, we use a fine lacquer to preserve the finish for years to come. Some purists may find lacquer offensive though we at E. Ciardi Co. highly believe in lacquer, and strongly recommend it, to keep the finish looking great for years without having to maintain.
